“We live in an age of technological miracles, where man can walk on the moon or communicate almost instantly across the planet, yet, with all this intelligence, we live in a era of chronic disease and illness.” – Kristin Van Wey

All life is governed by Natural Law. Some of these laws are obvious, like touching a hot stove, while others you may discover through years and patterns of neglect. These experiences can cause chronic or acute pain and dysfunction. You may have learned throughout your life that pain is an excellent teacher and can motivate change!

If you learn to live these simple laws you will discover that life can be filled with energy and joy! You will experience an abundance of vitality like never before and may even want to share and educate others so they too can experience vitality. There are 10 basic principles of vitality, that when followed, create a foundation of wellness. Health was designed to be simple!

NUTRITION

We are truly an accumulation of what we eat and assimilate. Nature provides everything we need to be healthy. It’s vitally important that we choose living food that’s as close to nature as possible and keep our diet free from anything processed or toxic.

ELIMINATION

The bowel, kidneys, lungs and skin are elimination channels or “chimneys” that allow toxins and waste to be removed from your system. When your elimination channels function properly, every cell and body system can function optimally. What goes in must come out or be utilized. Kristin has found elimination to be one of the highest priorities for prevention and chronic illness.

SLEEP

Bodies are designed to detoxify and regenerate while sleeping. Some require more sleep than others and you should listen to your body’s language to find the perfect sleep pattern for health. Before the onset of electricity, we went to bed when it was dark and woke when the sun came up. There is a natural rhythm of the earth of which you are a part and the closer you can be in sync with this rhythm, the more vibrant you will be.

FRESH AIR

High oxygen levels increase the efficiency of almost all the reactions in your body. From losing weight to sleeping better at night, fresh air is a key component. Your skin benefits, your lungs benefit, and due to so many reactions that depend on oxygen, every system in your body benefits! Since breathing is something we can control and regulate, it is a useful tool for achieving a relaxed and clear state of mind. Your body is designed to release 70% of its toxins through breathing. If you are not breathing effectively, you are not properly ridding your body of its toxins. Other systems in your body must work overtime which could eventually lead to illness.

SUNSHINE

The sun gives off visible and invisible light and infrared and ultraviolet rays. It is through the ultraviolet rays that we receive healing. One of the most important vitamins we use is vitamin D, which our bodies make when the ultraviolet rays come in contact with our skin. Direct exposure to sunlight can greatly benefit the entire body when done in moderation.

EXERCISE

Physical activity enhances life in so many ways. With daily vigorous exercise, tissue cells maintain their elasticity, lymphs move to cleanse and feed body cells, muscles maintain tone, the body receives a sufficient supply of O2, arteries remain clear, mental alertness is heightened, weak malfunctioning cells die and toxins and debris gently exit the body. With exercise you will empower and energize your body, mind and spirit and improve your self-esteem and self-value.

BELIEFS AND ATTITUDE

Your belief system is the actual set of precepts from which you live your daily life: those that govern your thoughts, words, and actions. Without these precepts you could not function. It’s important to realize that beliefs are not fact; they are the filters in which you see the world. If you find that your beliefs need to shift in order to support your goals, there are many techniques and ways to gently assist the process.

ENERGY FLOW

The flow of energy nourishes every system of your body and gives it the ability to concentrate; it’s the foundation of radiant joy and healing. The body’s life force moves in invisible currents and healing pathways in, through and around all matter. Understanding how to maintain a flow of energy is one of the most powerful tools you have. There are many ways to access and direct your energy flow such as Energy Medicine and even love for self and others – take the time to learn about this aspect of the laws of health and you will see your vitality and joy increase exponentially.

HYDRATION

The importance of drinking water is by far the most important nutrient for the human body. Next to oxygen, the human body needs water in order to survive. Two thirds of the human body is water. It is important in helping with digestion, absorption of food, regulation of body temperature and blood circulation carrying of nutrients and oxygen to the cells in the body and the removal of toxins. Water also helps with the movement of joints and helps protect tissues and organs in the body. It is also good to drink water for metabolic and weight loss purposes.

REDUCE STRESS

Reducing stress in your everyday life is vital for maintaining your overall health as it can improve your mood, boost immune function, promote longevity and allow you to be more productive. When you let your stress get the best of you, you put yourself at risk of developing a range of illnesses – from the common cold to severe heart disease. Stress has such a powerful impact on your wellbeing because it is a natural response that is activated in the brain.

PHYSICAL EFFECTS NOTE THAT THESE ARE SUBHEADINGS UNDER REDUCE STRESS

Our body’s physical reactions to prolonged stress may accumulate slowly and go unnoticed in our attempts to adapt to ongoing stress. However, even if it seems we’re building a tolerance to stress, our entire body is still dealing with an overload, which can seriously affect overall health in the long run.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS

In addition to the various physical effects of stress, it can also contribute to a number of mental and emotional disorders, including depression, anxiety, phobias, and panic attacks. While the many physical effects of stress can be overwhelming, it is important not to ignore these psychological effects as they also play a large part in overall health and vitality.
